Episcopal Anniversary: 10 years of Love and Service


On Tuesday 8th July, 2014, the Holy Father appointed Most Revd Wilfred Chikpa ANAGBE, CMF, the Coadjutor Bishop of Makurdi Diocese. 

Your Excellency, you're 10 years today as Bishop and Good Shepherd of God's people. We celebrate and Congratulate you on this remarkable day. 

May God continue to lead you gently and keep you going, grant good health and strength, peace and joy, and grant success to the work of your hands. 

Live long and celebrate more years of fruitful service to God man man.

JULY FEDERAL ALLOCATION: Federal Government To Withhold July Allocations to Benue, Enugu, Rivers, Kano and 16 Other States

The Federal Government will from July withhold local government allocations to Benue, Enugu, Kano, Rivers, and 16 other states in compliance with the Supreme Court judgement. The apex court on Thursday delivered a judgment in the local government autonomy suit filed by the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, on behalf of the Nigerian Government, barring the Federal Government from releasing allocations to local governments governed by unelected officials appointed by the state governors. In the judgment, Justice Emmanuel Agim barred the Federal Government from further paying LG allocations through the state governments, noting that the practice had been abused by the governors. Justice Agim accused the state governors of retaining allocations and utilising them as they please, to the detriment of the local government councils.   Woman Murders Husband, 2 Children, Then Kills Herself Police say they found the body of suspected killer Angelica Vazquez, 43, and her three family members in their Texas home on Wednesday. The victims are identified as her husband, Marcelo Vazquez, 44, and her two kids, Paulina Vazquez, 21, and Alejandro Vazquez, 18. A handgun was found on the floor near Angelica's body.
