By Samuel Allen Zenke Makurdi, Benue State.   Two days ago, I read an open letter, a notification of protest addressed to the Divisional Police Officer - DPO, Ihugh Police Division on this platform by a group of youths known as "Benue State Comrades, Vandeikya Axis."     The main attraction of the peaceful protest as was captured in the letter is the "Dilapidated State of Ihugh-Tsemker Road which has become a death trap in recent times." Infact, everyone who has plyed the road will surely confessed that the road is indeed a "death-trap." Today, the Comrades kept to their words, the protest was peaceful and I salute their courage for standing out and calling both governments - Federal and State to look into their plight. I have read this "open letter" over and over, infact, more than a dozen times. Every chapter has a solution to our present situation in Tivland. BLACK WEDNESDAY: Over 160 People Die In Boat Mishap In Calabar At least 45 people died when a wooden boat carrying 166 people from southeastern Nigeria capsized off the coast, a doctor said on Tuesday. The boat left on Friday from the town of Oron, in Akwa-Ibom state, and was heading across the Gulf of Guinea to Gabon, in central Africa, when it capsized 40 nautical miles offshore, emergency services and traders said. A doctor at a hospital in the coastal town of Calabar said they had received 45 bodies of passengers who had drowned. David Akate, head of Cross Rivers emergency services, said he had no official death toll yet.   Woman Murders Husband, 2 Children, Then Kills Herself Police say they found the body of suspected killer Angelica Vazquez, 43, and her three family members in their Texas home on Wednesday. Nigerian Immigration Office Looks Into Discovery Of Chinese Sex Workers Discovered In Ikeja Spokesman for the Nigerian Immigration Service, Mr Akin Olumba said to the press that the discovery of Chinese sex workers in Lagos is being looked into by the Nigerian Immigration Service. He said about 11 girls were discovered and have been transferred to the department’s headquarters in Abuja. He said that the people in charge of the syndicate are yet to be arrested. He also added that he could not disclose the ages of the 11 girls in custody. The girls were arrested at Emina Crescent, off Toyin Street, Ikeja, along with two Chinese nationals who are allegedly in charge of the syndicate.
